With over 19 years of experience in the hospitality sector, Jess has gained extensive knowledge and skills across all levels of the industry. She began her career as a teenager in a small local café and went on to travel the world, working in diverse establishments in locations such as Kuala Lumpur, Australia, and France.

Jess, alongside her husband Will, always dreamed of owning her own business, and after exploring various opportunities worldwide, they chose to settle in the Lake District. Here, they embarked on a new venture within the Broadrayne Farm family business, working alongside her parents, to create something truly special. Jess played a pivotal role in the creation of The Yan, which opened in the summer of 2019. From the initial planning stages to overseeing its development, she was deeply involved in every aspect. Since her sister Georgina joined the family team and assumed the role of Operations Director in 2022, Jess has taken on the position of Commercial Director, where she now leads The Yan’s sustainability initiatives along with other key responsibilities.
