As art publishing specialist The Art Group prepares to showcase its wall art offering at the Independent Hotel Show, we learn more about the company's partnership with watercolour specialist Summer Thornton. 

One of the most treasured members of The Art Group’s artist family is watercolour specialist, Summer Thornton. Having spent 25 years in the industry, award winning Summer has cultivated a unique style all of her own. 

Summer grew up in Norfolk and studied at the Norwich School of Art & Design. After moving to London in 2000, she set up her studio in South London where she began to create her contemporary watercolours. Summer uses watercolour as she likes its unpredictable nature and the element of freedom and richness that it adds to her work, especially when the colours flow into one another. 

Her inimitable technique has been expertly applied to the fabulous new range of cityscapes in dreamy, contrasting grey and mustard tones. Focussing on an array of cities, these iconic skylines have been flawlessly captured and are available as both canvas and contemporary framed prints.
