Enter the Concept Lab: Navi Designs by Vipa Shah
The Concept Lab at the Independent Hotel Show is an opportunity for up-and-coming, innovative brands to showcase their products and services to the show's audience of independent and boutique hotel owners. One of these exciting new businesses is Navi Designs by Vipa Shah, and we caught up with business owner Vipa Shah to learn more about the evolution of the brand.
Tell us a bit about your business
I had come up with my business idea during lockdown, which was to make a footstool upcycled from a used car tyre.
I was keen to develop an eco-friendly piece of furniture with multiple uses (footstool/extra seating/coffee table/ottoman) which was versatile and which could be chic and glamorous at the same time. I'd taken a few months to develop various designs and then launched it first at the Ideal Home Show. I also offer a bespoke service, where I work with the client to design their desired furniture.
What is your offering for hoteliers?
I would like to offer hoteliers an eco-friendly piece of furniture which can suit any living space, be it in the reception, foyer, bedrooms or more. My products can be upholstered in a wide range of fabrics including plush velvets, chenille's, silks etc...
What are you doing to save the planet?
At Navi Designs By Vipa Shah sustainability is the sole purpose for introducing sophisticated, versatile footstools to fit any interior design whilst being eco-friendly. Our footstools and ottomans are made out from used car tyres, each footstool is saving a tyre from ending up at landfill sites. Helping to create a greener environment.
Why have you decided to join the Concept Lab at the Independent Hotel Show?
The Independent Hotel Show team explained the Concept Lab to me and I thought it would be a brilliant opportunity to showcase my products to hoteliers who are looking to bring in more eco-friendly furniture elements into their premises. I'm looking forward to networking with like-minded businesses and very much looking forward to exhibiting at the Independent Hotel Show.
