Christmas at... The Tawny
Step into a world of festive cheer and unbridled holiday spirit at The Tawny Hotel, nestled amidst the serene countryside of Staffordshire. As the festive season approaches, The Tawny transforms into a haven of warmth and delight, beckoning guests to immerse themselves in a truly magical Christmas experience. We ask General Manager, Josh Chadwick on how the team at The Tawny creates an unforgetting guest experience throughout the festive months.
Describe Christmas at The Tawny
We try to make Christmas one to remember at The Tawny. From the start of December our estate is transformed into the festivities but our package over Christmas is particularly special. We have all sorts of entertainment available from live music, to cinema nights.
How does the festive season impact the guest experience?
We try and ensure that guests get a more festive feel compared to the rest of the year. This includes changing our music, putting up the decorations and having extra items available such as mulled wine, homemade mince pies and festive cocktails!
What’s the most memorable guest feedback you’ve received about your hotel’s Christmas celebrations?
I would say the below which was sent from a break last Christmas and from a guest who has booked in again this year!
"Good evening and Happy New Year
Just wanted to drop a note to say what a wonderful stay we had over the Christmas break. The facilities, food and accommodation were excellent. We would particularly like to pass on a huge thank you to the restaurant team (where we spent a lot of time) and to say they were OUTSTANDING!
Please pass on our huge thanks and compliments to all of the team and let the owners know what a fabulous team they have working for them!"
How does your hotel approach designing your Christmas décor to wow your guests? Are there any innovative or distinctive decorations or themes that you have found particularly successful?
Believe it or not, every room has its own Christmas Tree and Wreath! The benefit of having large rooms, scattered about a 70 acre estate is that we can ensure even the bedroom is festive, and walking down the paths seeing all the rooms with their own wreaths really does give that festive village feeling!
What are the challenges and joys that come with transforming the hotel into a festive wonderland each year?
The vast estate means it can take a while, we have over 50 trees to put up each year across the estate, so that can be a task in itself, as can the weather when we are doing the outside trees!
